Day one of the grand Madurai Chitrai Festival has begun! This morning, the sacred temple flag was hoisted high, marking the auspicious start of this vibrant celebration. As evening descended, the spiritual energy continued to build with beautiful ceremonies.
Today, the divine couple, Lord Sundareswarar, graced us on the majestic Karpaga Viruksha Vahanam (celestial wish-fulfilling tree chariot), while our beloved Goddess Meenakshi looked radiant on the powerful Simha Vahanam (lion chariot).
They were lovingly taken in procession around the four holy Masi streets surrounding the temple.
The devotion of Madurai’s people is truly heartwarming!
Families showed their love and reverence by adorably dressing up their children as gods and goddesses, joyfully accompanying the procession from its very beginning to the end. It was such a beautiful sight to witness these little deities walking alongside the grand chariots.
The air was filled with the sounds of sacred chants, the rhythmic steps of devotional dances, and the powerful resonance of preached mantras. This entire journey created an incredibly positive and uplifting atmosphere, spreading joy and blessings throughout the city.
I managed to capture a few glimpses of this enchanting day.

@TusharSuradkar sir, thanks for going through all the captures. The location is not shareable as this event happens like a rally, the entire four outer streets of the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple are celebrated as the god’s and goddess’s chariots move around.

Got it, dear @MathanVibranarayan. Perfect
In that case, you may simply add a Google Maps link to the temple or the city of Madurai.
People will come to know which part of the world this amazing event is happening.
But a post should always include a Google Maps link.
