“A rush of blood to the head” is not only an excellent album by Coldplay, but also the sensation I experience when I see a notification that there is an update for the Google Maps app (on my Android device). And this morning this was the case again, so after the update was installed, I immediately checked the app to see if there were any exciting novelties to be spotted - which is then the case from to time.
And indeed at least 1 new thing immediately caught my attention: in the list of Edits under Your Contributions, you can now when the edit was made, or at least when you submitted it (as also for edits that were not applied or pending the submission date is shown).
Nice new one @ Google Maps team!
[UPDATE 14/01/2020]
Another new line was now added to the Edits information, with a short status explanation saying e.g. “Your edit was added to Maps” for APPROVED edits
Hi @JanVanHaver thank you for sharing, and this shows that we are getting better each and every day. I do not have that feature on my app. I checked its update date which is 6 January 2020, not sure if it is not available to everyone at the moment or what. Cheers!
@Raphael-Mahumane , I had to download the newest beta version to get the dates on edits to show up. Normally the App gets updated automatically, but this one needed my intervention. You may want to check this in the Play Store.
This is all under what’s new in Google Play on this version:
“You now have more ways to control your privacy on Google Maps. Use Incognito mode when you don’t want your activity — like the places you search or navigate to—to be saved to your Google Account.”
The sparse info could due to it being a beta version. I don’t know where else to look.
