Dark Mode on Connect?

Is there a setting to activate Dark Mode on Connect? This stark white background is killing my eyes.

How can I turn Dark mode on here on Connect?

Hi @VBenedict

Great question.

I’m pretty sure that Dark mode is not available as a setting here on Connect.

In the Chrome browser under settings and under theme you can chose Dark mode. But the white background on Connect override this. So this is not a solution.

I also tried if the settings under Display on my Android phone could fix it. But no. The white background persists.

So I guess sunglasses :sunglasses: or lowering the brightness on your phone is all you can do.

Cheers

Morten

Hola yo también he intentado poner el modo oscuro ya hace un tiempo y es imposible no hay manera, también he pasado que podría haber una app , en vez de tener que acceder a conet por el navegador.

Saludos cordiales

I also think this is a much-needed feature. It is really eye-killing when you’re on default Connect at night!

Currently, there is no way to change settings of Connect to enable Dark Mode, but there is a simple way in the background of browsers both on desktop and phone to force websites in Dark Mode, even Connect and Google Maps web :slightly_smiling_face: It is described well in Android Central.

There are also few extensions for desktop that helps to force websites in Dark Mode and give you more control over it. For example, I tried Dark Reader.

It really helps to use Connec better at night. But still I hope Googlers prepare a simple setting on every page of Connect to switch dark mode on-off.

Oh Yes! It is a serious issue even with Chrome. I keep configuring the setting for Dark Mode and it reverses itself to default; eventhough my device default is Dark Mode.

But we are supposed to trust and feel safe when browsing… 🫨

Chrome and many other browsers have so many security issues.

How about changing the device setting to normal mode and then try again?
