As a Local Guide, how did you do this year?

Did you meet your personal 2019 Local Guides Goals? Or did you have great goals, but fell short and did not achieve them?

Here were mine and what happened

2019 Goal #1 – Reach Level 9 since I’ve been a Level 8 since September 2017.

Did I make it? NO! I did get closer though. Earned over 13,000 points in 2019!

2019 Goal #2 – Attend Connect Live 2019

Did I make it? Yes, I am one of 6 Local Guides who have attended now all 4 global Local Guides conferences at the Googleplex since 2016.

Being the start of a new decade, are you going to be aggressive and reach for the moon in 2020?

Or are you going to be conservative and make sure you can easily reach your 2020 Local Guides goals?

What are my 2020 Local Guides Goals?

I am keeping my goals the same:

2020 Goal #1 – Reach Level 9. I need to earn 10,000 points by the end of 2020. This is doable, 834 points per month! I have a plan to reach this goal.

My stretch goal would be to get pass 50,000 points (Level 9, say earn another 10,000 points, to make it 20,000 points for 2020). It can be done.

2020 Goal #2 – Attend Connect Live 2020

It gets tougher every year to apply. And if I don’t get an invite I am okay with it too.

I do have a great Clean the World Connect Live 2020 meetup already planned in my head (Just need to write the 2019 recap by end of January 2020 – Sorry @ermest ! = )).

Also, I have a couple of new pre or post-Connect Live 2020 meetup ideas to showcase what interests and motivates me as a Local Guide and to showcase the San Francisco Bay Area.

What were your 2019 Local Guides goals? Did you meet them or not?
What are your 2020 Local Guides goals? Don’t be shy. By stating them publicly, you make them real and will be motivated to keep them.

Nice summary of 2019 year in your LGs world. My journey as LG started on connect in april 2019 at a level 7. Now I am level 8. This year I travel 2 times in Italy, 2 times in Austria, and once in Hungary. I tried to be on Conect live 2019, but not succesful. Maybe 2020 this dream will come true.

In november i attended my first meetup in Treviso and was great.

Next year in april I plan to prepare meetup in my hometown Kosice with Tokaji wine testing.

I wish all LGs in 2020 nice light to your life and to your pictures.

Happy New Year @KarolT ! You have some great 2020 Local Guides goals that are achievable!

Attending @ErmesT 's annual Italian Wine Meetups are both fun and a great learning experience on how to have a great meetup. He is a master of the multi-day international meetup and a great Local Guides resource in general.

And yes, please, do apply for Connect Live 2020. It could be your year!

2020 Local Guides Goals Challenge post. One of my Local Guides goals for 2019 was to make my contributions more impact-based - which was brought about by one of the presentations made during Connect Live 2018.

Given that I wasn’t able to achieve that in 2019, I will make that my focus in 2020 again and hopefully achieve it.

My second goal as a Local Guide in 2020 is to get selected for Connect Live 2020. So help me God.

2019 goal: Reach Level 10!!! YES! I did it but didn’t get it until December 30th… but it’s still 2019

Great post, I will be sure to use the hash tag once some goals are met. My number one is to host a successful meet up this year.

My goals for 2019 were to make it to connect live, host a meet up and make it to level 8. I met those goals and I am grateful and thankful for that.

I don’t have any expectations about Local guides because I don’t really know what’s local guides ,just enjoying review and upload photos on maps ,and I received email for apply connect live ,sign in to connect .learning english at connect and yeah erything becomes WOW

Thanks for the post, and congrats on your success!

My goals for 2020 for Local Guides are:

To continue to contribute strong useful content to growing Google Maps and helping people around the world through my contributions.

I would like to continue my current points of 5,000 per month through quality content.

I would like to add one new path, or street, each month.

I plan to host atleast two meet ups in 2020 in the UK.

My additional focus for each review is regarding accessibility, in letting people know what features each establishment offers.

And my aim is to step out of my comfort zone and actually do some fact checking. (Urg)

“Quality over Quantity” is my motto whenever posting to Google maps.

How can I make a difference!?

I feel extremely blessed from 2019 and I don’t plan to take any of it for granted.

Actually, I don’t have any special plan so far. Only one goal is contribute continuously to enrich the map of Bangladesh and help people to find proper info quickly.

@KarenVChin , mi objetivo respecto a Local Guides, para este año, es poder agregar rutas, caminos y pueblos del interior de Argentina. Aunque sea algunos. Tomar algunas fotos 360.

Y armar algún Meet up fuera de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, también con el fin de agregar información al mapa.

Y por supuesto seguir creciendo como comunidad, estrechando lazos con mis compañeros LG argentinos y con otros LG de diferentes países del mundo.
