Thanks to @mdismailbaig and @naikbadrish , I’ve been introduced to the world of Dalgona coffee. I’ve really appreciated my first coffee and it prompted me to search about it online.
That’s when I’ve found a dalgona matcha tea recipe. The recipe is pretty much the same as the dalgona coffee, but you have to add fluffed white egg to the ingredients list. Still pretty simple, but I recommend you use a electric mixer for that part.
And voilà ! You can enjoy your dalgona matcha tea!
Thanks for sharing your Dalgona matcha tea. I’ve seen this obsession all over the Internet and I still haven’t tried to make this coffee or tea at home. Is that your favourite drink for the summer?
I know that @DanniS also tried to make the Dalgona coffee at home. Perhaps she can share her experience and thoughts on this trend.
Wow @Melissa_Langlois that recipe looks so different plus it is adding a totally to the coffee word. That is actually great , i will try this one and tell you about it.
Thanks @MoniDi for tagging me here. I also found out about Dalgona coffee recently and had to try it. It’s actually really good. Made it twice already. I’ve only done it with instant coffee, sugar and hot water to make the foam. Why did you use an egg? The matcha version looks delicious as well.
@MoniDi The main attraction for the Dalgona coffee is that it’s really simple to make, just sugar, instant coffee, water and milk. And because it’s so easy to make at home, it’s a good alternative to the blended iced coffee, which is a bit more difficult to make at home. So during quarantine, it’s a nice replacement and I would definitely recommend it as a summer drink.
The Dalgona matcha though is a bit more tricky. Although it is very tasty, I wouldn’t go through the hassle of making one every day, because of the whipped egg.
@DanniS The egg is used only for the matcha version. It’s the only way to get a foam thick enough to float on milk. You don’t have that problem when using coffee since it’s already making a foam. I’ve tried matcha without the egg and it was a fail. After reading a bit, I’ve found that every dalgona matcha recipe has either egg or another substitute to create the foam.
Your Dalgona coffee looks delicious!! Hope you’ll enjoy the matcha version too
@Melissa_Langlois Thanks for the insight! I’ll have to try the matcha some day. It looks really cool and I keep seeing photos of matcha lattes everywhere
