In our visit to Cyprus, one of the most impressive places visited was the pebble beach of Petra tou Romiou, about 22 km from Paphos. It is a paradisiacal crescent protagonist of a legend: on a rock of this beach, from the waves and the foam of the sea, Venus was born.

Even the Botticelli, in the painting at the Uffizi Gallery in Florence , represents the birth of Venus with the landing of the shell on the land of Cyprus.

I leave it to you to decide if the birth took place here or there of the rock, of course the place is enchanting.

Posto che si presta al romanticismo e anche noi non ci siamo lasciati scappare l’occasione.
