Cycle the lakes of Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes is a large town in the South Midlands - whilst it’s relatively young in age it has lots to see, including many lakes and parks. Over 25% of Milton Keynes is either green space or a body of water, making it an ideal place to visit in the summer for a picnic in the sun!

For a great day out you can travel along the redways that span the city and visit one of the lakes for food, boating and exercise! The main three lakes are Furzton, Caldecotte and Willen, all of which can be easily reached by foot or bike from the redway system. My favourite of the three is Caldecotte as it’s generally quieter, with it being to the south of the town it feels more like you’re in the countryside. Just a 10 minute walk from the north of the lake there is the picturesque Simpson Village which boasts thatched roof cottages and an organic pub - perfect for a cocktail whatever the weather!
