Curiosity about photos in Google Maps

As a Local Guide, I’ve been really in to food pictures, with more than 1200 posted pictures since 2018. I’ve been always interested in statistics and I’ve been trying to understand how the Google Maps views works. At the date, I’ve got 1.268 posted pictures with 4.627.608 views, which I think, is not bad.

I’ve been lucky to be at some really nice spots, like Ostería Francescana, the lovely restaurant from Massimo Bottura in Modena, Italy:

This picture has at this moment about 41K views and you can find it at https://goo.gl/maps/4uGpBc59adB1V8iz8

Other good example is Bar Zingaro, from Takashi Murakami in Nakano, Tokyo, Japan, which has at this moment over 34K views and can be found following this link: https://goo.gl/maps/ppNLjzqVP5tFWNc5A

Both are, I think, two good pictures that have a lot of views, and have been shot with a Sony a7 ii, but curiously my most viewed picture, is in my opinion, a horrible picture that I did a year ago with my phone.

This picture, that can be found at following link https://goo.gl/maps/f8Yb1QHPfaycnfC97 has allmost 160.000 views

What can we get in conclusion about this? That this is the only picture that the Local Police Station of Malaga has. A public service, that thousands of people searches in Google and that is requested every day, and that had no pictures.

Google Maps is like a game for me, I’ve been enjoying my labour as a Local Guide, but it’s also a service that people are used to use and need. There are plenty of opportunities, posting pictures that really help people, like this example that I made, not just letting people know about delicious food, that is also welcome, but as well with these kind of services, like adding pictures and details of services, that we all as a society need.

The act of helping is already comforting, but if you also get some views, thing that is always cool, why noy?
