Created roads are not accepted

Hey, I have the following problem:
In our area, new roads have been added or the route has been changed No matter how often I try to add this to Maps or change the existing road, it is not accepted.
What can I do about it? I mean, I’m standing on this road and I can see with my own eyes that there have been changes/the path is new.

Hello @OkayNiggo this is a common problem for many, if not all of us! I takes a long time until the first road edit is accepted and most or not accepted at all - probably due to limited resources to verify the requests.

Anyway, my suggestions:

  • Always start at a road which already is shown on Maps
  • Start with extremely short segments and add a new little segment each time after they were accepted
  • Don’t give up and continue doing so in the same area!

For more tips read Manual for Road Editors , search on Connect and ask here, if you have more questions.

Yes, @WilfriedB is right.. road edits are a bit hard to get accepted… You should also be aware about few other things like …

Try to add well visible roads without obstacles or obstructions ( like blocked roads, trees covering the path, etc ). Roads with 80% minimum visibility in satellite view gets easy approval.

Try to draw less complicated roads (if a road has multiple branches, split it into multiple roads or draw the main branch first and after it gets approved draw it’s branches) . Such roads will get fast approval.

Try to add the name of the road seperately. It will make the approval easy..

If a road you added is showing pending, wait for maximum of 90 days before trying to add that same road again…

And finally, hope the road gets approved :folded_hands:

Thank you @SarathUpendran for the additional tips!
Regarding trees covering the path there is another great article by @MarcoDavoli, the champion of road edits: Road edit under the tree. I can only confirm, the technique, to add very little segments which start and end at the shadow of trees, does work. But you need a lot of patience …

Hello @OkayNiggo. When all else fails, you can try contacting the Google Help Community in it’s Maps section here https://support.google.com/maps/thread/new?hl=en&sjid=5083422842934562894-NA

If one of the higher ranked Product Experts takes up your case, you’ll be asked to provide geo-tagged photos of the beginning and end points of the road sections you wish to fix. This will be passed on to the Google Maps team for action.
