Created listing for local restaurant but messed up address. :/

I’m not quite sure this is the place to post this, and am terribly sorry if there is somewhere else it belongs, but I need help.

A few weeks ago I visited a local burger place, afterwards I attempted to send the location via google maps to my brother but realized they weren’t listed. I contacted the owner on Facebook and asked if he would be okay with me suggesting his location to Google Maps, he agreed and I went about the addition process. Unfortunately in my haste I didn’t notice that the address Google Maps directed me to upon clicking the Facebook map link was not the restaurants actual location. The restaurant was published the next day, but seeing the location on the map I realized my blunder and immediately submitted an edit. It’s been two weeks and I still feel horrible about it, I keep hoping the edit will go through but no luck so far. Is there anything else I can do to correct the situation?

Thank you for your time, I hope you are doing well.

Hello @CHoward09

Since you created the place, any immediate attempt to edit that becomes suspicious.

I guess, the AI may think that as an attempt to spam and get some extra points.

I suggest you request some other LG friend to create that edit. If that’s not approved immediately, it may appear in “check the facts” from where you can corroborate that.

Nevertheless, my experience is, it may take up to six months for the edit to reflect.

However, if the incorrect information is causing great distress to the other visitors, you can share the details of edit here on connect and tag a moderator.

Thank you for the response. I figured that was part of the issue, could very easily be flagged as suspicious.

The location in question is Kelly’s Heroes the incorrect address I entered originally is 1622 Rayford Rd, Spring, TX 77386, their actual location is 1810 Rayford Rd Site D Spring, Texas 77386. I have no idea how to tag moderators.

Again thank you for the response.

Hi @CHoward09 ,

Thanks for having checked with the community! : ]

Much appreciated also for your initiative to have the correct information on Google Maps, as @C_T kindly suggested, please make sure to check with other Local Guides to suggest edit (as mainly to avoid sending it by yourself multiple times).

I would also suggest to check with the owner of the restaurant, perhaps to claim the business (you may check in the article Add or claim your business listing) and to check for any further editing on the location. (should there be any further inquiry, do feel free to let a Moderator know)

For the moment, I just wanted to let you know that the current post would be relocated to How-tos, should it be more suitable to the main subject.
