Craving Satisfied, Saved By Google Maps (Day 22/365)

A little background, there is a restaurant here in Baguio City that I frequent sometime around 3 years ago, this restaurant serve pakistan/indian dishes. I liked their food so much I make it a point to go there at least once a week, this restaurant made me fall in love with Indian/Pakistan dishes, the restaurants’ name is Shahi-Qila. Unfortunately, this restaurant closed two years ago. Since then I have been searching for authentic and delicious Indian dish, those that I tried didn’t even come close.

Fast forward to several months ago, Google Maps introduced new features on the app and among them is the trending places in my area. I noticed that the restaurant named Qilla is always trending and it reminded me of my favorite restaurant that closed.

So, I tried to find this restaurant, it is located in a developing community so business establishments such as hotels and restaurants are not common in the area. When I finally found it I was skeptical, it might not match the taste that I have come to know from my favorite restaurant.

Hesitant but determined I went in and ordered, because I was really craving for good Indian dish, I ordered a lot!

From hummus to Chicken Tikka Masala and a glass of Lassi to wash it all down.

I took my first bite and…remember the scene from the movie ratatouille? When the critic was taken back to his childhood memories after taking a bite of the food? That’s what happened to me only it took me back to the time I was eating at my favorite restaurant.

It was amazing! Delicious! Yummy! I finally found the restaurant to satisfy my cravings for Indian cuisine! Thanks to curiosity, willingness to explore and the “Trending” Google Map Feature!

Wow @VincePH it’s seems you are fan of Pakistani and Indian Taste

Did you tried Chicken Karhai, Qorma or Biryani there? If not, try Biryani there, I hope they could produce the same taste as you can taste in Karachi Or Dehli.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful memories :ok_hand:

Shurkiya
