General Update:
The Prime Minister of Japan has not issued an official lockdown order as of March 31, 20202! Some of you who’ve been following the news in Tokyo may have noticed that it snowed in Tokyo last weekend; a rare occurrence this time of year. When it snows in Tokyo it’s beautiful, even when there are no people walking about.
( " I love snow clad shrine or temple in the winter. You can hear the soft pelts of snow on the ground and the wind chimes in the distance").
Americans, like myself, are asked to self quarantine if they are flying in to Tokyo for 14 days! So be aware if you plan to travel here in the midst of the pandemic. If you insist on still coming here, even now the U.S. Embassy has issued a Travel Alert warning of 4 for Tokyo.
#Social distancing is not a problem if you travel to the right places, like to a shrine or a temple now now. IF you insist on still traveling here you can still enjoy the beauty of Japan with less people around while still maintaining a safe distance from people.
You will not find any masks here now.
Bring your own mask and be aware that toilet paper is still scarce. People are not fighting over that stuff, so that’s the good news.
Travellers:
Foreign tourist are still entering Japan and they can been seen most in Tokyo taking pictures of popular places less crowded than usual.
