COVID 19 is affecting not only food and economy but every aspect of our lives. In this situation, it has become difficult for many teenagers and mothers to buy sanitary napkins during the period or menstruation of them. On the other hand, due to the lockdown, many people have money in their hands but are not able to go out and buy it. In many cases, the product is not available. Due to the social taboo and misconception in Bangladesh women are unable to ask help from the male members of their family.
To solve this problem we are the few Local Guides working through the Trikonomiti Project. The initial idea came from my mind then I have shared with @SumaiyaZafrin@RadiaRayanC and @JashiaNoshin to provide free Sanitary Napkins including other women essentials to the unprivileged girls and women in Bangladesh.
We have decided and formed a small fund and started to distribute free sanitary napkins to the underprivileged women. We already distributed 500 sanitary pads at different locations in Bangladesh. We have also created a private Facebook group. In this Facebook group, prominent women doctors are giving various suggestions about women’s health. We are also creating awareness of using sanitary napkins through the Local Guides community.
For all of your kind information, the Period is a natural physical process for women, which relates to their good health. But in our country (Bangladesh) this has been neglected. Due to insufficient usage of Sanitary Napkins causes severe infections, even cancer. Most of our women feel shy or hesitant to ask their husband, father, or brother to buy these products. Only 14% of females are using a sanitary napkin in Bangladesh and Many stay unhygienic in their period because of this.
I would like to request our Local Guides around the world please support our girls and women for a safe period. Because this problem is not only in Bangladesh but also a global problem.
@MS_Pathan@NareshDarji@ShafiulB Thanks you all. We are trying to improve this project. You can also help your nearby underprivileged girls and young women.
In Japan, not only COVID_19, but the women who evacuated when the great earthquake struck were lacking in sanitary goods. As a result of the experience of many earthquakes, sanitary ware manufacturers donated sanitary goods to the disaster area during the Kumamoto earthquake four years ago.
In the event of a major disaster, I hope that people’s consciousness will change so that they will be provided with sanitary products as well as food and clothing.
@PavelSarwar odličan je to projekt. Pohvale Vama i Vašim volonterima.
