Covid-19 Is Keeping Me Home, But My Previous Contributions Are Still Helping My Community

Since Covid-19, I haven’t left my house but a handful of times, so my ability to #guide has been limited. But I am happy that my photos on #Google Maps are still helping people. As I see my photo views still increasing, I know that people are still getting value and help from my previous contributions. As of today, I am a [Level 8](http://See what I’ve posted to Google Maps Level 8 Local Guide) Google Local Guide with 28,167 points, 1708 photos, with 19,784,418 views! So only a little over two hundred thousand more views and I will hit 20 million!

Above are two of my all time favorite photos that I have contributed to Google Maps, although they do not have as many views as others. They are of one of the historical sites in my town the Jean Baptiste Lang Creole House Museum which is featured on my list :wheelchair: Assessible Old Mandeville Businesses. Taking photos and sharing them, of places so unique to the culture of my area, is what I love most about being a Google Local Guide! I was happy to discover that my lists Wheel!Hike!Run!Bike! Mandeville’s Gems: and Trails and Paths to Fitness! are the featured lists on Google Maps for Explore Mandeville today! I have seen my other lists featured other days as well!

I hope I can get out soon, and start taking more photos, and create more lists, so that I can continue to help my community and the visitors here!

Hi, my friend @lynneannec , I’m also missing getting around to take photos and upload them in maps. I’m indeed going out once and I while, but most of the places that I visit are pharmacies, grocery stores, etc. At the same time, I’m trying to update some information on Google Maps, but as you said, our ability to #guide has been limited. BTW, I’m also a level 8, with about 29k of points, so maybe we can cross the line to Level 9 together soon.

I’m very happy to see a lot of great posts by you on Connect.

OK @Bobiisha , if you feel that is best. But the post was not about my achievements, but how Covid -19 was affecting my ability to be a Local Guide in my area, but my love for photography and making lists was surviving through being able to see how people were still getting value from past contributions. Thank you.
