A rough and rugged 30-minute drive from Praia Grande, in Arraial do Cabo will bring you to Costa Do Sol, Parque National.
The road is no joke, and Google Maps barely shows it as a viable way. Beginning with intricate Portuguese road, complete with granite pavers forming a pattern with a row of pavers in the center, slightly lower than the others that acts as drainage. The road deteriorates to a dirt road that becomes mud with the slightest rain.
Fortunately for us the sun came out and we were able to visit the Atalaia Beach. It was stunning, and the photos, while amazing do not do justice the the raw beauty of granite hills sloping to powdery white sand and clear water deepening to turquoise and cobalt.
