Correction don't take approved.

No. 1 & 2 Here the name of the pharmacy is misspelled. I have tried to correct it twice but no home was approved. The number three is that the name of a mosque has not been approved even though it has been made a correction. There is often a problem finding the wrong name so it is important to correct the names but not approve. How to activate then benefit from the little details and can easily be corrected later. Thanks everyone.

Hi @ShohrabSahed

Would you mind posting links to the three places, so we can take a look, and hopefully give you some good advice.

Cheers

Hello @ShohrabSahed

Hello
I the first case, the originator has named the place as Pious instead of Piash.
Did you create the place? I find your review there.
If yes, then as per my experience, succeeding in an edit of a place by the creator becomes almost impossible. The automated program may perceive that as an attempt of manipulation.

Further, on your badge, seven edits out of thirty have become private. That may affect the trust score.
I suggest, wait for some more time and then try that edit.

In the case of religious places, edits are locked many times to prevent spamming.

It would be better to defer these edits.

Thank you for reaching out to us. Please share the actual Google Maps links to the places, so we can look at it for you, as @MortenCopenhagen already suggested.

One thing I can say, simply by looking at your screen-capture is that you have made two edit suggestions in one single go. Name and Address or Name and Map Marker. By combining multiple edits, you are lowering your chances of getting an Approved response. The issue here is, that when the verification process rejects one single edit element out of the two, the complete edit suggestion gets rejected. So, better to do them separately.

Happy mapping!

Hi @C_T ,

You wrote: "Further, on your badge, seven edits out of thirty have become private. "

Could you please explain? I am not aware that Map Edits can be private, so I like to understand. Thank you.

Warm regards,

Hello @JeroenM

That was a surprise to me also.

Again, like reviews and photos, why edits can become private? The reason is not known yet.

However, that’s a fact.

Below is a screenshot that clearly says that edits can also become private.

Nevertheless, the difference does reflect on the count of approved edits on the main badge and the fact-finder badge.

Private edits do not affect the points. However, the fact-finder badge can be affected sometimes.

Thank you for the clarification! Yes, I had actually seen that update, but I think it is related to a confusing approach by Google Maps. mixing traditional Map Edits with Photo Label Edits.

I think I understand what is going on here. The new photo labels that we can both add or edit, are shown under our Map Edit Contribution Tab. The moment a label that we gave to a photo is not accepted by spam filters or perhaps edited/improved by another contributor, it is my understanding that these edits become private.

What we called Map Edits traditionally, cannot be set to private in my opinion. Our edits are either approved or Not Applied. If we have an edit that is Approved and weeks later a person changes our edit in new (updated) data, I am not so sure what happens. Personally, it would still make sense that the points count. After all, a place with seasonal opening hours would otherwise give us points for updating the opening hours and the moment the season changes and the opening hours are changed again, we would lose our points. That makes no sense.

I think this proves that Google has complicated the matter. What do you think?

Hi @C_T ,

I suggest we move the discussion on private edits and what we can learn from the Google Maps profile of other local guides to a separate thread instead of high jacking @ShohrabSahed thread. Let us continue here:

Can edits be made private and what can we learn from the public maps profiles?

Hi @ShohrabSahed ,

This business is not claimed by the owner, and you made the only review the place has. Earlier you were asked if you created the place. Please let us know the answer to that question. Also the cover picture is yours.

If you created the place, then you should have made sure to get all the details and spelling correct in the first place while you were adding the place.

It is also my experience that the approving algorithm seems to think that you have had your chance since you created the place.

My best advice would be to visit the pharmacy and suggest to the owner to claim the business and the owner can then make the needed changes.

The owner might appreciate your help in claiming his/hers place on Google Maps.

Cheers

Hi @ShohrabSahed

Thank you for sharing the link.

Besides accidentally misspelling the name, may I ask why you decided to call it Piash Pharmacy, whilst the sign says Piash Pharma?

When you submitted your name edit (without any other data as address, etc.) did you include another photo as evidence of the name? You can obviously not re-submit the exact same photo that is currently featured. But for the sake of getting your edit verified, I think it is okay to upload a similar photo (nicely framing the name) and perhaps deleting that photo once your edit suggestion has been approved.

Hello @C_T Thank you for your explanation.

I am having issue with approval on new places sometimes. How can I check my trust score? Or can you please help me to check mine?
