Hi Everyone!
For about seven years, I have been a Google Maps Local Guide, contributing in various ways. What I love sharing the most on Google Maps is, by far, corrections of street names, street directions, addresses, and businesses’ information in my home country of Egypt.
I love this most because of how much difficult it could sometimes be, in Egypt, to reach a place; how much correct Google Maps data can make a difference for people in serious real life situations; and how much incorrect data can not only put people in very difficult situations, but also dissuade them from using technology that they had just brought themselves to try. All of that I have witnessed firsthand.
Being an instrument of making Maps more accurate and more helpful to people trying to find their way always feels like a most gratifying way of giving back to my community.
