Today, I have submitted many road edits in Google map. Later when I inspect the edits, I find two types of submition. Both with the name “Unknown Road” but one type have “unknown road” twice and another type have only one. The coordinates of that first type was reset to (0, 0). The coordinates resetting to zero had happened for the edits where the content was removed from the map ( it use to happen after approval) but now it was happening in pending stage. As I had submitted a lot of submissions, I can’t pin point which roads were that which edits were reset to zero. Am I the only one facing the problem or any one of you have faced the same problem?

This could be a consequence of the revised notifications and not something you did wrong. Also for normal edits we can not revisited the places from a link in the email notifications. The link text is See edit but it just takes us to the list of edits. Not good.

I just checked my latest 1000 submissions both desktop and mobile, but I cannot replicate the issue.
What do you use for adding roads in Google Maps? Mobile or the road editor for desktop?
@abdulsubhanraza , I am not surprised that you never had that issue, as your number of added roads seems to be zero. How many pending roads do you have?

Most of my rood edits are done through road editor for desktop but I use mobile too. Locating the numbers of edits in map is easier through mobile while the list move to top in each attempt in desktop.

That’s true, @Pration_Paudel , many times I do the same to check the position of the denied edits.
Two more questions for you:
- Do you have the same issue also on desktop?
- What version of the app are you using? Mine is 24.48.02.700180747 on Android 15

Here are the answers to your questions:
- I have checked my edits in desktop and have found the issues in my desktop too.
You can see in the photos too. In one Edit dated December 2, I can go to the coordinates by clicking the edit name (Unnamed Road) but in another edit dated december 1, I am not able to go to the coordinate. ( Observe the mouse pointer). But in desktop there appears only one name but in mobile there appears two names. (Compare photos with screen shot) - I am currently using Version: 24.47.04.699095382 on Android version 14.

Are all the edits without a link related to Road Shapes?
On a side note I would like to let you know that, due to low priority, an edit of a Road Shape is normally not approved. Not because it is wrong, but simply because it reach the 90 days of time limit for approving a road. Normally when I modify a shape I also add a piece of new road, for increasing the priority. If I don’t have any road to append, I give up

Yes, all recent edits are related to roads. Most of them are road addition. If we simply add the roads without editing the shapes then the chances of edits being accepted within the day, increase greatly. Today also, among my about 250 edits around half of the edits are already accepted (addition of small missing section in the road, also whole road section too.) After the road get accepted, I performed the edits in in shape.
For shapes, I use mobile app and select the option “Drawn incorrectly” and select the section which are wrong. But some times, I manually edit them in desktop. Most of my accepted edits for shapes are through app edit.
For removing roads, It depends on which device I was operating at that time. From app, we can enter the description / reason for removal. In desktop, simply selecting the section and removing.

Sorry, probably I wrote my question in a not clear mode, so let me ask again: in your previous reply you shared two photos of your desktop.
You said that
- in the edit related to Dec 2 the link was working correctly.
The description of the edit is “road edit” so probably it’s a “road creation” - in the edit related Dec 1 the link was missing and the description is “road shape”
What I’m trying to understand is if the the link is missing only in edits related to “road shape”

The answer is no. I have found the problem in “Road Edit” too but most of them are “Road Shape”. I have found that such edits were approved too but coordinates reset to 0.
