COOKING DAY-4(RICE PORRIDGE)(Rice kheer)

So, my cooking streak continues for the fourth week.

I am feeling really great as I have been able to complete my target or say able to stand on my words. I feel the real reason is the people who appreciate unconditionally what I prepare. Say by luck or for real the dishes are tasting really great ,even I cooked them for the first time in my life.

So this Sunday(10.05.2020) I planned of cooking “RICE PORRIDGE” and executed the plan successfully.

The outcome can be clearly seen

so to prepare this dish ,you will be needing following items:

1)water

2)rice

3)sugar

4)milk

5)dry fruits (cashew,raisins ,almonds,pistachios,etc)

6)elaichi

7)kesar

So,first wash the rice properly. The sign that the its done properly is ,the water should be seen cleary i.e. no dirt.

Now keep the rice in water for approx 20-30 mins ,so that it will get soft.

Now ,crush all the dry fruits and prepare the powder of elaichi and keep it nearby.

Now, pour water in the wok and milk as per rice quantity taken( I used around 1.5 litres of milk for 200 gm of rice). Now boil it for approx 30 mins or till the time it gets little thick . Take out some milk(two to three cup) and add kesar in it for colour. Now add rice to it after filtering the water.

Now continue stirring it till the whole thing get thick and rice starts coming up and the size of rice increase(by soaking the mil) this will connect the starch of rice and milk fat which will make our dish tasty and delicious.

After some time add dry fruit and sugar in appropriate quantity.

And now keep stirring till our dish get thick as we like. In between keep checking the rice hardness. If it’s still hard keep adding milk and water and boil and reduce the milk+water combo.

Now add the separately kept milk(with added kesar) and stir for sometime .

Now ta da our dish is ready to serve.

The smell will tell that hard work payed off pretty well.???

The taste is wort all the pain.

It was really tasty, I was really scared when I came to know that I took more rice. But later I managed somehow.

Hi @Ankit2906

Looking delicious. If rice is more then add some more milk and little sugar. This will adjust the consistency.
