As I decided during lockdown, that on from coming weekend and after that I will prepare some new dish.
So sticking to that decision today,
I cooked Today "SAABUDANE ki KHEER(sago’s porridge).
above is the final product???.
So, to prepare this one will need following items
1)saaboodane(sago)
2)milk
3)1-2 glass of water.
4)sugar
5)dry fruits
6)elaichi
First clean the saaboodane, till all the powedered saaboodana is washed out as it may ruin the taste.
After proper cleaning, now soak the saaboodana in water for 3 hours.
After that put 1-2 glass of water in wok and then add the soaked saaboodana by distilling water used for soaking.
Now keep it on stove ,and continuosly stir it so it doesn’t stick.
If you are sure that the saaboodana is getting transparent and it’s half baked/getting thick, then add milk and continue stirring.
Now after 20-25 mins (depending on the heat it is kept on) observe if it got a little thick then add dry fruits(like cashew, almond, raisins) and elaichi. Then stir it for some more time and add sugar in appropriate amount (as per taste and quantity).
now keep stirring till the time it gets thick and the saaboodana’s colour turs white(transparent) and it’s size increases to almost double of initial size.
now if it got properly thick as per your wish, remove it from stove and serve…ta da…it’s ready to serve.
Now I have another item in my cooking list.
