Igreja de São Salvador is a hidden treasure of Barcelos with a long history which started in the XI century. Finished in the XVI century it has a lot of architectural elements from different historical periods. The first historical mention dates back to the 16th century, but the first community was here in the 6th.

Yes, I visited Barcelos with a bicycle. In Portugal if you travel by train you can transport your bike for free, while in case of bus transporting it costs 5 EUR extra to your ticket (exception: urban, regional buses, but your bike should be foldable).
