I started my local guide journey when I uploaded pictures of some businesses a few years back. Since then I have been contributing to Google maps.
Wherever I visit, I take some pictures, upload them on maps helping more and more people. While visiting some businesses, I firstly take the permission of the owner, take pictures and let them know how uploading the business in Google Maps helps them grow. There are many businesses, public spots, tourism sites, and other important places left to put on the map in my locality. My city Pokhara is one of the famous city in Nepal for travel and tourism. Pokhara opens the door to world-famous Annapurna Round Trek, Annapurna Base camp, Ghandruk Village, Jomsom and many more. Pokhara bears a high tourism potential which if supported and contributed with continuous efforts can take the travel and exploration to the next level.
Using google maps I think not only businesses are growing but the people are feeling easy for searching the places they are looking for. Places that are known to a limited extent and some are still unknown but have a higher possibility of tourism is also being explored because of google maps. As I am a trusted Streetview Photographer, Iām continuing my journey with my smartphone and 360 camera (Insta 360 OneX) and I believe 360 photos are more seen by people than the normal images.
Moreover, I have been explaining enthusiasts about google maps and the change it can bring to the community. I hope one small contribution can help a place to be more detailed and familiar which can make future traveling hassle-free and a better experience.
