I noticed that when I scroll down my Reviews under the Your Contributions tab inside Google Maps the last review on the list (when I can scroll down no further) is a review of 2 years ago. Yet, I started writing reviews in February 2017!
So I got confused, thinking that maybe some of my reviews are not showing. But painstakingly counting all my visible reviews under the contribution tab, the total number of reviews matched my LG score. Since I know for sure that I started becoming a Local Guide in February 2017, I went to my Time-Line and surprise, surprise, it appears that I may have indeed written this review as my very first.
Is there something broken with the algorithm that prevents it from counting back 3 years? In case you have been a Local Guide for more than 2 years, what does it say for your first contribution? Does it also say, “2 years ago” whilst this is incorrect?
There is no easy way to go back that far @JeroenM . I have 1875 reviews so it takes a very long time to check so I’m unable to give feedback in regards to when my first review was done and check.
Hi @JeroenM , once your first contribution was on Feb 14, 2017, it didn’t complete 3 years yet. It will count as three years when we reach Feb, 14, 2020. For example, my first contribution was in December 2016, and it appears as a three years contribution. I had a few contributions in my beginning, but all of my reviews in January 2017, are also counting three years. I didn’t contribute in February 2017, and my next contribution in March 2017, it’s counting as two years (it did not complete three years yet). So, I understand that it is nothing wrong with it.
@C_T I recently edited an old review and it jumped to the top saying to Google Maps users I wrote it a week ago, yet the response by the owner is from 2 years ago.
Soon the owner will be accused of time travel (LOL).
Thank you all for this conversation! I enjoyed all the counting involved.
