Contributing High Quality Photography on Google Maps is More Than Just a Hobbie

Photography, to me, is not just a hobby, but a vital part of my life. And, that’s why it is such an integral part of my Google Maps contributions. Until I finish saving up for a professional camera, I use my Pixel phone to strive for high quality photos that I can share with others. The saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” is entirely accurate. My desire is that people in my local community and those that I have the pleasure of meeting in my travels have the opportunity to see these photos and make an informed decision on where to eat, what activities to do, and what places to visit.

One of my greatest achievements is my “Master Photographer” badge. (see above). It reminds me of the impact my photos can make and encourages me to continue to contribute.

Looking through these four photos again, I am reminded of my experiences associated with each of them. I am reminded of how much of a good time I had. My favorite was when I went to Scooby’s Bar & Grill. We had just arrived to Myrtle Beach and were having a difficult time finding a place to eat on the tourist strip. After walking for about 20 minutes, we stopped at this small building with no idea of what to expect. Pleasantly surprised, we had a fantastic fish dinner and drinks. Proof that the size of a place does not indicate quality. Hopefully when others see this photo and my review, they will be encouraged to try this place too.

To conclude, this is why I care so much about sharing photos on Google Maps. I want everyone around me to have the opportunity to have these experiences. Perhaps, they will also be inspired to share their own experiences. A small butterfly can create a hurricane, a hurricane of wonderful shared experiences.
