Content filter blocking my review

Hey everyone,

I tried to post the following 1-star-review:

Notdienstkunden werden auf der Straße bedient. Ohne Regenschutz und direkt neben Spaziergängern.

(engl: Emergency service customers are served on the street. Without rain protection and right next to walkers.)

But it gets blocked by the automated content filter. Any idea what the problem could be?

No pictures, no text - just ban :slightly_smiling_face:

Fun Fact: Even if I remove the text completely and just post a rating without text. It also gets blocked by the content filter

Welcome back @PetrusMaximus

Keep in mind that the trigger might not be in the review text itself. Try deleting the attached photos and check if your review goes public. If so, try adding the photos back one by one and keep checking. This way you can figure out which photo was the culprit.

Furthermore, the spam filter looks at your overall performance and track record as a local guide. So completely unrelated violations can also cause reviews to be removed from public view.

Currently, 11 of your reviews are hidden.

Please use the form called Account Investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps if you believe that some of your contributions have been wrongfully unpublished. Keep in mind, it takes several weeks for the check to be done, and you will not be notified about the result, so I suggest you check the status of your reviews once a week or so.

Best of luck
Morten

My review does not conain any pictrures or text and it still gets blocked.

The filter is just insanely stupid. It keeps blocking my 5-star-reviews from my US trip. Dunno why. All pictures and reviews are legit and nice. There is no reason to block it, yet it gets blocked. This is very frustrating.

I filled out that form 5 times in the last years. This time it will be my last try… Google reviews get massively manipulated in Germany by lawyers. You have to be really dumb to trust Google Reviews today.

Hi @PetrusMaximus ,

I’ve had a couple of reviews get pulled (presumably a new automated algorithm on Google’s end - and it’s probably not a good idea to speculate how to get around it here). However, if you click into the ‘Details’ there is an option to appeal the decision and it seems to send the review to a human (moderator) for review. So far everything that I have had flagged, I’ve appealed and they’ve all been approved (2 days was the longest). A little annoying but at least there is the option to get the false flags appealed. The attached image related to a review that I had flagged and it also contained no images.

Regards,

James.
