Construction of a new OR Complex & ICU Building for the Academic Hospital Paramaribo

As part of the Construction of the new OR & ICU, which started with the tender in 2017, the south wing of the Academic Hospital was fully restored.

Upon inspection the south wing was full of cracks and there was some serious water damage. Also there was some asbestos in some areas that needed to be removed.

The now fully renovated wing officially opened today on the 19th of may 2020.

The contractor was; building company Kiesel NV.

And the supervisor of the whole project was; IBT engineering consultants.

Later this year it is hoped that the new OR and ICU will also be opened.

Congratulations for the new hospital in your local community, In the title you mentioned the Academic hospital, does the management of this hospital comes under the supervision of any medical university/college? Here in my community, we have many medical hospitals which are managed by the university administration.
