I don’t know if I understand you well enough videos of what exactly do you mean.?
Of course you can add a video to your post here on connect. Although you can’t add it directly nevertheless it’s possible. I have added video to post here on connect once or twice.
@Rednewt74 If my understanding is correct you want to have ‘Video’ as a topic? Definitely something to consider, but I’m not sure if there’s a need for that. Like what @SholaIB mentioned above, we can already attach video in our post. From the way I see, it’s better to use video as a way to support a post, rather than it to become the focus of the post.
For example, let’s say I’ve noticed something about my still photos that I have uploaded to Maps and I want to write a post about this. When you start a new post, you have to select a “Topic”. Currently the topics are “Photography, Travel, Food and Drink , Local Stories, Meet-ups, How-tos, and Achievements”. @SholaIB , you cover this in your excellent welcome-card post.
But what if I have noticed something about the videos that I have been uploading and want to discuss it on Connect. There is no “Video” topic. Yes you can choose video under additional tags, but I believe it is a category that is distinct from photography. Now that there is a lot of discussion on Google Maps new emphasis on uploading videos in addition to or in place of photos, it makes sense to me to add video as a main topic. I foresee a lot of discussion on the pros & cons, how-to, tricks, and successes of doing video and I think it would be helpful for keeping abreast of the topic. I for one would use the video category and a tag of how-to for posts I write on how to to do better video more easily.
