Hey guys, how are you doing!
Well, I finally made it back to the Brooklyn Bridge after a “few years” well, since 2008! ) I was SO excited to check it off my NYC bucket list again. This time, I came prepared – a strategic list (Google Notes) with places I never had the chance to visit or enjoy it to the fullest, of course, with routes, walking distances, and so on
I believe I might be able to make a sort of “post series” with all the places I was to able to visit in a solid full day (9:00am to 7:00pm) so that I am kicking this off with this first stop. It might be helpful for whoever is planning to visit NYC but does not have plenty of time to spare.
Back to my 1st stop … Imagine a bridge that’s both a suspension bridge AND a cable-stayed bridge – that’s the Brooklyn Bridge! It crosses the East River and links Manhattan and Brooklyn.
I did a little digging and found out the Brooklyn Bridge has a great history. It open up back in 1883, connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn for the first time ever! It was the longest suspension bridge at the time, stretching a whopping 1,595 feet – that’s like almost 5 football fields … bad example if you are not familiar with the sport, lol! Well, it took me about 30-35 minutes to cross it, probably a bit more since I stopped quite a lot to take pictures😮
The only thing I’d do differently next time? Start on the Brooklyn side! We ended up doing a little extra cardio because we had to walk back and forth to get to our other destinations. My youngest daughter was getting a little bit cranky so I had to play goofy from time to time to keep her distracted
Anyway, I really enjoyed taking these photos, and I hope you like them too! Stay tuned for more places from my trip – Central Park, Bryant Park, Rockefeller Center, and many more! "
