ConnectLive 2025 Post Series. This post is a part of my series before, during, and after ConnectLive 2025 New York City showcasing unique attractions, activities, and facts about the city
Thinking about crossing the iconic Brooklyn Bridge? Whether you’re on foot or two wheels, you’re in for a treat! This majestic structure offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, and the bustling waterways below. Here’s a little peek at what to expect when you decide to make the trek from either Manhattan or Brooklyn.
Strolling with a View
Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is a classic New York City experience. The pedestrian walkway is elevated above the traffic, giving you a safe and scenic route. Take your time, soak in the atmosphere, and snap some amazing photos! Be prepared for crowds, especially on weekends and during peak hours. It’s about a mile-long walk, so wear comfy shoes and bring some water, especially on a warm day. The gentle incline makes it manageable for most fitness levels.
Getting Your Sweat On
For the runners out there, the Brooklyn Bridge offers a unique urban workout. Imagine pounding the pavement with that incredible backdrop! Just be mindful of the pedestrian traffic and try to stick to one side of the walkway. Early mornings are your best bet for a less crowded run. The slight uphill grade can be a good challenge, and the downhill on the other side is a nice reward.
Two Wheels and Thrills
Biking across the bridge is another fantastic option. There’s a dedicated bike lane, making it safer and more enjoyable. Feel the wind in your hair as you glide across this historic landmark. Remember to be courteous to pedestrians and other cyclists. The views are just as stunning when you’re on two wheels, and you’ll cover the distance a bit faster. Consider renting a Citi Bike or bringing your own!
No matter how you choose to cross, the Brooklyn Bridge is an unforgettable experience. Soak in the history, the views, and the vibrant energy of New York City. You won’t regret conquering this concrete giant!
