Tombe Girls Secondary which I helped locate appropriately.
I joined Local guide in the last quarter of 2016, when I joined the current organization I work for and was sent to a County I have never been in Kenya as Project coordinator.
After launching the Project, the first this was to do a mapping of the 20 project schools. In as much as I got a local taxi driver, he also did not know the exact location of the schools. That’s when I started using google map for directions. A long the way I started receiving prompts to review some of the places I would stop over for refreshments like Hotels.
A point to note is that I have two local guide profiles as a result of using two emails, one from the organization I work for (Level 6) and my personal Gmail account ( Level 5).

Am an Educationist and therefore my reviews, edits, photos revolve around schools, Hotels where we do trainings, workshops and conferences and some stop overs along the way.
One of my strongest contribution to in google map is correcting wrong placements and placing schools and even Churches that have not been placed on the map.

Here is an illustration.
I embarked on going to a certain school using the google map, I followed the prompts keenly up to the point it says…You have arrived, but checking, no school could be seen, that how I realized that I can contribute immensely at making corrections and update appropriately for the benefit of other visitors in future.
In as much as these places are not business ventures but placing them on the google map can help visitors to access such facilities as they tour, thereby enhancing their overall experience.
I have used this Hotel Borabu Country Inn Hotel, Nyamira, Kenya
So many times and shared photos and reviews and from the feedback they give me, the hotel profile has really improved to be the best hotel in Nyamira town, Kenya. I have seen it being upgraded over the time and the management is very happy about my contributions.
Google map has really impacted on my day to day life especially when visiting new places, now I don’t have to be afraid or worry on how I will reach certain places. I have shared my experiences with google map with my colleagues, friends and family that they can use it confidently.

Let’s continue to guide up to the last mile
