Connecting the soul to nature

My girlfriend and I traveled to the Itatiaia National Park in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
Knowing little the region, I planned to visit some waterfalls and the nice restaurants that exist there, but did not expect that a conversation with the owner of the inn would change my weekend.
We know the waterfalls of the region, isolated districts and very well frequented that revealed a gastronomy, chocolates, wines, beers and a very nice people.

There is a district called Maringá that is divided by Rio Preto and each margin is in a different state, so you are visiting Maringá of Rio de Janeiro and Maringá of Minas Gerais. There is a brewery that produces a Season with pinion and also smoked.
We know more beautiful places like the Waterfall of the Escorrega, a waterfall that descends sliding by the stone like a great slide of adult child.
On Saturday night we were tired and had dinner at a Penedon restaurant and brewery, there we ordered the option of the menu called A Bit of Everything, and a tasting tribute with smoked beers, lemon and pepper, stout, weiss and a fermented in barrels of wiskie; It was a meal for three people, which only the two of us had to deal with. We invited the waiters to share but they did not want to.
So on Sunday we took advantage of Santa’s house and the Finnish village, and we left knowing that we did not visit half of what the region has to offer.

Hi @Itsanisah

The city is called Itatiaia in the state of Rio de Janeiro, we stayed in Penedo at Vale Verde inn, excellent cost and the owners are very attentive, it is closer to the woods. There are other inns that are closer to the center and others in the middle of the woods.
We went to Visconde de Mauá, passed by a mountain range frequented by amateur cyclists attracted by strong climbs and flashy visuals.
From there we travel to Maringá do Rio, we parked the car and walked to Maringá de Minas through a bridge, there are several picturesque restaurants, ice cream shops, chocolates, souvenir shops and quadricycles. We returned by the bridge and took a Serra Gelada pilsen, made in the region.
A little further along the road, we find a brewery called Maresia de Mauá, with 5 taps of its own manufacture and good snacks. They are also on Untappd.
We travel to Maromba, by dirt road, we arrive at the village, there is a lodge and the Escorrega waterfall, restaurants and parking lots, a very rustic place. We spent a few hours and returned tired.
We dined at Penedon, ordered A Little of Everything and could not stand it all, but the breaded brie was delicious, as were the pork ribs and the bruschetta.
On Sunday we enjoyed God’s waterfall, the Finnish village, and returned home.
In summer the National Park of Itatiaiais taken over by butterflies.
There are still many places to enjoy, I have to go back there and keep meeting.
Today, for example, they recorded a minimum temperature of -1 ° C.
Nearest airport is Galeão (GIG), is 2 hours by car, rent one to enjoy the tours.
Some photos of the trip.
