People often ask me why I am constantly rating the places I visit or answering a seemingly endless stream of questions about the restaurant or taking photo’s of random buildings in the street and usually I just answer that my phone asked me to. The truth, however is that I enjoy it. I enjoy the feeling that I am contributing to something larger, I enjoy the knowing that somewhere, someone in my town’s day is going to be that much easier.
There is a huge debate going on about our connected world and sacrificing privacy for convenience but I am all for making our days slightly easier bit by bit everyday whilst maintaining the privacy we want and need.
At the end of the day, connecting our communities, especially in smaller towns like the one I live in, will only make life easier for the each generation and in a world so connected we often feel very alone. Local Guides and Google make me feel like I can be part of something bigger.
