Connecting and Viewing pics through SV App and Google Maps.
Hello G people, i am new here and joining strong Google family, on my road to 50 photos to earn a badge GTP with my Ricoh theta. Got approved 15 already, with good stats #roadto50
Learning Virtual Tour stuff for future project of my business through Google Street View.
I’m facing a small problem in viewing the connected images in Google map. I’ve connected the 360 images in Google Street view app, but when I’m trying to view it through Google Map, it’s not showing connected and I’ve to individually go from one image to another. Also, are these virtual tours vorking only for Trusted Photographers or… Kindly help.
Also question… does my 360 pics need to bee only with nice weather or I can post snow and winter ones?or it doesnt matter as long they comply with rules…
Congrats on adding 15 360photos already and kudos for the fact you want to reach 50!
If I understand correctly, you would like to link 360 photos? It is not possible to link/connect them, the system will do it automatically. In regards to the seasons, you can add whatever season you wish as long as it complies with the image policy here.
Hello @GeorgesHR thanks for promt response., and thanks for a Kudos #roadto50
Yes i am practicing to connect 360 photos and i am doing all good, 1 m appart and so… and i have done all connceting manually and all seems fine when viewing through SV app, but when i look through gogle maps on my mac , looks like normal pics withut option of virtual touring through them (no connections)
I do not think you can connect them on Google Maps. The system will do that for you if it sees the necessity, but just to make sure, I will ask @Yohanad for more explanation maybe?
I’m sure that I had virtual tours working before I was granted trusted status so I don’t think it’s that. It can take time for Google Maps to update with the basic connections between photos and a while longer yet to turn it into a street view sequence (assuming your photospheres are close enough together / maps approved / etc) whereby you can jump images in the sequence by clicking further ahead than the direction arrow.
Give it 24 hours and then see if Google Maps has updated with the connections. That said, it usually only takes a few hours in my experience.
Regarding the weather, I try to at least make sure that there’s some sunshine. I would avoid snow for street view tours as it’s so temporary (in most locations) and really makes things look very different. Of course for something like a ski resort then snow on the ground would be ideal.
For picturesque areas with a great deal of nature around then often these look better in spring and summer, at least in terms of appealing to potential visitors to the area. Sometimes the lack of leaves on trees can be an ideal opportunity to see more of buildings / distant features / etc than at other times of the year so winter times shouldn’t be ignored altogether.
There is an elegant beauty to bare skeletal trees that can make for some great artistic photos, but then I think that you have to sometimes temper artistic urges against a picture’s appeal and usefulness to potential visitors and consider what would best represent any given location.
Hy @S-B-D thanks for the update… i will wait for it for 24h and c does it show virtual tour markers on google maps preview… for now i can only c it on my SV app/account… lets c what happens… will keep u posted thanks for promt response…
I willl keep it sunny then, without dark clouds over me

Now I already know why there are so many railway accidents in India, @deepakjhic
@Csaba - Hehehehhehehe. Maybe you’re right but only 5 trains run between Shimla and Kalka. It was my dream to visit at Shimla Railway station and Local guide program made my dream come true.
