First, I am writing this post because of my friend; ErmesT, who is a Connect Moderator. Please read **ErmesT’**s post here.
Many people have gotten Ermes
over the issue of ‘overtagging for likes’ such that he made a Post about it. I have decided to lend him my support.
Have you ever wondered why some Local Guides have a lot of ‘Kudos and Comments’ on their Posts and you don’t?
While it is not unusual to find the Google Moderator, Googlers, Google Administrator or Connect Moderators getting a lot of kudos and comments, I am talking about regular Local Guides like you.
The Simple reason/trick/tip is this;
They Connect and do so enthusiastically!
I will give some example of my ‘Pals’ on Connect
- Have you met JacobLed in your Comments section? His enthusiasm, I mean, sometimes if you are not careful, if Jacob comments on your posts, people will leave your Post to like Jacob’s comments. He contributes so effectively and adds color to an already beautiful ‘Post’. I got to know of Jacob’s charm, when I saw how Jacob got one of our Moderators engaged in the Comments! I mean; he so tastefully described each meal that anyone will pick a flight straight out to give same food a trial.
- OliverLeeKiwi
: Have you read any of Oliver’s posts? Be it about an adventure, a Pet, or a Photography! The picture is clear! He takes the pain to describe. As I type this post, I remember Oliver’s ‘show us your Pet Photos’, I can remember ‘Milford’s sounds’, the Lone Tree, etc. I remember so clearly, because, virtually, he took me with him on those journeys! - Have you read any of FalguniP’s posts? She’s a Pro on the Food Counter, her presentation and all! I mean in my head; I have tasted Momos
- Have you seen VinayKrishna’s food presentations?! You see the ‘post’ and you can’t but click, it’s attention-grabbing!
- Have you read ErmesT comments in his role as ‘Moderator’ or as a ‘Local Guide’. I mean it just feels like someone you have asked for a bottle of water who brings a jar (the type that can fit on a Water Dispenser). He knows all the rules of the program at the back of his hand! He is very strict and diligent, he carries out his responsibility with such gusto that it is infectious!
- Have you met the sweet-natured and humorousEwaade

That’s by the way, my point here is; there is no perfect way of writing, contributing and all of that, but there is so much more you can do better to make Connect a better place and to begin to enjoy Connect. Unlike all the other Social Media, Google is here to protect you and ensure your data is secure, also, you will be rowing with like-minded individuals who will only make your time better and who you are sure to learn something new from!
In summary;
- Write a detailed Post
- When you like a post, leave a Comment if possible; so the person may understand why you ‘liked their post’
- Do not be afraid of Commenting here, the Google Moderators and Google Filters are here to protect you
- Visit the Profile pages of others, like their posts and leave comments
- When people comment on your Post, try to reply as soon as is possible
HOW DO I CONNECT?
When I put up a post, after replying ‘my mentions’, I move to my likes; I click to see all who have liked my photos
Liking a comment, a picture or Post, or whatever else on Connect is great. However, leaving a Comment, tells the person the ‘reason’ you liked the comment.
If you feel the person who ‘wrote the post or comment’ may not understand your language, by all means, use the Google Translate.To learn how to use this function properly, please check here and here.
Let’s keep enjoying the company of one another. As Local Guides, we are great, as ‘Connect’, we are unbeatable!
You gotta choose if you want to be ‘great’ or you want to be ‘unbeatable’.
