Hello.
I am MD Halal BDS. I live in a small place of Chittagong city, Bangladesh. I got my first android phone on 28th July 2017 after passing Secondary School Certificate. It was Eid-Ul-Fitre after 3 day’s. Celebrating it with my family, exploring, clicking a lot of pictures using Google maps to navigate. Next day Google send me an invitation to join as a Local Guide and to contribute in Google Maps. That’s where my journey of LG started. I was not long drive traveller but was covering all the areas that i knew and could reach. Almost 1.5 years passed being a LG. After some time in the beginning of 2019 i found a Community of local guides (#Local_Guides_Gazipur). I started to interrogate with them. That’s when i learned about Local Guides Meet - up program’s. I registered and was ready to explore this new Meet - Up section. Unfortunately that day was my Physics final exam. But still they connected me through Video Conference.

A Few months ago I joined another community called Bangladesh Local Guides. Started meeting more people. Found some new friends. I found they were so much active and they also have Meet - Up’s. But I never registered. Their 100th Meet - Up and Fruit’s- up cought my attention to the very end. Around a month ago before Connect Live 2019 they declared Pre Connect Live Meet - Up.
After that they announced Connect Live’19 Experience Sharing Meet - Up at United International University (UIU).

It was helding in the University Auditorium. I couldn’t stop myself. I registered for the Meet - Up. More than 400 people Registered for the Meet - Up but they said they’d select only 150. I was just a Newbie with no chance of being selected. But the next day got a mail saying your selected. I confirmed my payment and was ready to go to my first ever Meet - up of my life.

There’s always a core team in every community who work hard for their community. Our core team were working for hours day and night to make the meet-up as precise as they can. If they hadn’t shown their hard work then this meet-up would just had been a failure. But core team is called core team for a reason. It’s because they never let their community fall. They don’t care about themselves. What they only care about is their Community. Just Salute This Core team of BDLG Community.
@Agargaon, Mirpur-2, Dhaka
I started my journey to the Meet - Up place from Patenga, Chattogram to Agargaon, Dhaka on 28 Nov 11:30 p.m. The Meet-up was at 3:00 p.m and the venue was far from where I reached. It was 6:15 a.m when I got off from the bus. So I started exploring Dhaka. It was the second time I went to the Capital Dhaka City. First time i went their to take part in 39th National Science Fair. Didn’t got chance to explore than but got now. So why lose it. While exploring i was heading towards our Venue of meet-up. From 6:30 a.m to 2:40 p.m I had been walking for more than 10 miles. At 2:40 I meet some LG waiting to get to the venue.

BDLG also arranged a shuttle but for us to reach the Venue free of cost from a certain distance. It is for the UIU Students. We reached our venue at 2:08 p.m.

They had some gifts (T-Shirt, Notepad, Pen, LG Stickers) for us.

After registration and getting gifts everyone was told to put on LG T-shirts. Slowly the first session started. At first there was an intro about the community, the founders and the sponsors. Also some guide about mapping.

After salah we had photo session.
Everyone had gathered at the front of the University for the photoshoot. We had help from group of three LG’s to get some Drone View photos.

After all this it was time for a snacks break. Everyone got into Kk (Khan’s Kitchen) where 2 people were taking tickets and giving snacks. Everyone got into a line and one by one gave ticket took snacks got to the table and started eating. A’h a was too much hangry that time.
At 5:20 the second session started. First #Lyric_Mitra was called to the stage to share her experience. She is a Local Guides Connect Moderator.
She was selected to attend Connect Live 2019. But she couldn’t get a Visa and could not attend the Connect Live 2019 Summit. She also told us 3 of her wishes that she wants.
After her #Sumaiya_JafrinC was called to the stage. She just recently became Local Guides Connect Moderator. Then she introduced herself, how she came to know about guiding, how she became a Local Guide. She also gave some inspiring messages for Female LG’s.
Oh oh I totally forgot,
There was also a Q&A session after snacks break. Our 4 founders were called to the stage and the members were told to ask them any questions regarding Google maps. And they answered all the questions wisely.
@Mahbub_Hasan our founder. He was an attendee of Summit Connect Live 2019. And at the very end he was asked to share his experience of Connect Live 2019 with everyone. He had a very detailed experience.
@Gifts for everyone
After Mahbub Hasan’s experience share it was time for Gifts. Our Founders, Lyric_Mitra, Ayesha_Islam_Shimu, and some members were given attractive gifts. Gifts were also given to our sponsors for making this meet-up happen. I also got my gift for being active in the community.
@Casino Circle of Luck
In this big meet-up we had only one game to play which was Casino The Circle Of Luck. It was spinned for 4 times in a row and 4 members were given prizes. Connect Live 2019 attendee Mahbub Hasan had brought chocolates for us from the US. Everyone was given a chocolate while signing out.
After game it was time for the ending. We gave back our meet-up ID card and they gave us a special gift. Then everyone came out of the Auditorium. And slowly everyone started their journey back home.
