Hey everyone!
It’s hard to believe it’s already been about two months since Connect Live Singapore. I intentionally took some time before writing this because I really wanted to savor the memories and let everything we experienced fully sink in.
Now, with Connect Live Mexico 2026 on the horizon, I wanted to share a recap of my journey as a little appetizer for anyone getting ready for Mexico!
Singapore was my very first Connect Live, and after being a local guide + mapmaker around two decades, getting to spend a couple of days at the Google office with Local Guides from all over the world was unbelievable. We were all bound by the exact same thing: our shared love for exploring and making Google Maps better. Expression of everyones face in above photo attest to that.
Here is a look back at what made those days so special:
Outdoor City Treasure Hunt We kicked things off with a treasure hunt right across Singapore. Running around the city, solving clues, and tackling Map tasks with teammates from different countries was the absolute best icebreaker.
Top-Secret Sneak Peeks & Brainstorming We got an exclusive peek into upcoming Maps features (my lips are still sealed 
, but get excited!). We also had dedicated sessions to brainstorm our own feature ideas and share them directly with the product teams.
Hot Seat & Panel Discussions Googlers took the “hot seat” to answer our unfiltered questions about where Maps is heading. We also got to hear from an amazing panel of Local Guides who shared their personal journeys and achievements, which was super inspiring.
Local Guides “Shark Tank” This was easily one of the most fun parts of the whole event. Teams pitched creative concepts while Googlers played the Sharks. The laughs and energy in that room were top-tier!
Rooftop Welcome Dinner & Souvenir Swap On the first evening, we gathered at the rooftop restaurant in the Google building. The city views were great, but swapping local souvenirs with friends from around the globe was the real highlight for me.
Farewell Dinner Party We wrapped up our final night with a huge party filled with drinks, games, and a lot of laughs. It was the perfect finale before saying our goodbyes.
Reflecting on all of this over the past two months has made me appreciate the experience even more. A huge thank you to the Googlers who put so much heart into organizing it, and to every single Local Guide I met you all are truly amazing souls. Special soul from Karachi @KashifMisidia it was a great pleasere to meet you live at connect.
