David Tito ( @DavidTito ), a New Zealand-born Local Guide living inPerth, Australia, is this week’s Connect Live Attendee of the Week. David is a Street View Trusted Photographer who, alongside @ermest is heavily involved in the Local Guides Clean The World project. He’s also hosted 19 meet-ups in Perth.

David was nominated by Md. Mafujul Islam ( @bdmafuz ), a Local Guide in Bangladesh, who he has inspired through the program despite their geographical distance. “He always helps me to plan successful meet-ups and gives me suggestions about how I can improve my contributions. He taught me how to take great 360 photos on mobile and he always joins my meet-ups by video conference,” Md. Mafujul told us. “As a result, he inspires new Local Guides.”

David’s very first meet-up was at The Coffee Club Café in 2017. Soon after, he hosted a ”36” Walk in Perth. The ”36” Walk is a global meet-up campaignspearheaded by @PaulPavlinovich to introduce a sense of worth and deliberation by limiting how many images you take during the photowalk. “It was quite hard to remind myself that I only had a few shots and that another two or three to make it right were not an option,” David wrote in hisrecap.

David has also brought several international meet-up campaigns created by fellow Local Guides to Perth, among them were an edit walk, a bicycle ride, an accessibility walk, a food crawl, a clean-up, and more.

David encourages other Local Guides who are interested in planning meet-ups to take small steps. “I plan early—one to two months before the meet-up date—by socializing with other Local Guides worldwide. I ask them to help spread the word,” he told us. “I love socializing, meeting people, and hearing their stories.”

Ultimately, his meet-ups all share the same goal: “I want to be helpful on Google Maps and have a clean and accessible world,” he said. To learn more about David, check out his Connect Live application video and his Google Maps list of top recommendations around Perth.

David is part of the “Clean the World” activity from the very beginning, when we started to work together on the backstage. When I invited him to manage the worldwide “Mymaps of plastic pollution”, he said immediately yes, even if CleanTheWorld was just growing up.

Serious, tireless, a great local guide, deeply involved on several worldwide Local Guides project.

Probably one of the Local Guides that more I want to meet in San Jose. Well done, David

@ErmesT oh my gosh, I am so reflecting on this, I’ve just seen the whole project in a blink of an eye, We did it, oh my I am so lost for words, I am so really grateful I thank you more than million times, I have to give you credit, you have been my LocalGuide roll modal and I will always apreate it for rest of my life @brittym he’s is a legend and awesome Connect moderator.

Awesome choice @bdmafuz in nominating @DavidTito . David has done great work with both generously helping out fellow Local Guides, participating on all the global meetups, and being a key member with @ErmesT Local Guides Clean the World initiative.

I am always interested in attendee of the week. Reading about their profile and achievements is quite intriguing. Thanks for sharing a post about @DavidTito numerous achievements. I particularly interested in his clean up initiative. Good to read about local guides who are striving to ensure local guides flourish and are contributing to make the world a better place for all.
