Connect Live ’26 – Singapore: I Was There, Even Without Being There

In 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2025, I had the privilege of attending Connect Live in person. Each of these summits holds a very special place in my Local Guides journey and has given me memories, friendships, and experiences that I will always cherish.

This year, however, I was not invited to Connect Live ’26 in Singapore. Honestly, I did feel the disappointment of not being able to be there physically. But something happened that made me realize that I was not completely absent after all.

Every time I attended a summit, I carried a large Bangladesh national flag with me. This time, although I could not take it myself, members of my beloved Bangladesh Local Guides Team ( @Trishatishu , @MohammadPalash , @NasimJ , @GaziSalauddinbd ) carried that flag with them to Singapore.

So, through that red and green flag, through the love and support of my community, a part of me was there. :bangladesh::heart:

What made the experience even more special was the unexpected love and kindness I received from some of my old friends. I honestly never imagined that they would go out of their way to send me personal video messages filled with warm wishes and memories.

Those messages touched me deeply and lifted the heaviness I had been feeling about missing Connect Live. To me, they were much more than simple greetings—they were a beautiful reminder of the friendships and connections built throughout my long Local Guides journey.

My heartfelt gratitude and love to my dear friends and respected brothers @KashifMisidia , @doc_dells , @NileshNag , @StephenAbraham and @Shirni for taking the time to send those wonderful video messages. :heart:

The thoughtful gifts they sent also inspired me greatly. Together, the messages and gifts reminded me to look forward, stay focused, create new initiatives, contribute more, and work toward becoming part of future Local Guides programs once again.

I am truly grateful to everyone who made me feel connected even from afar.

A very special thank you to @Kristen_NYC for sending such a thoughtful gift package. I hope these gifts will bring additional inspiration to the Local Guides who attend our Bangladesh Local Guides 12th Anniversary Celebration & Connect Live Experience Sharing Meetup, encouraging them to continue contributing and making a positive impact in the community.

One Final Wish

May the Local Guides platform continue to grow stronger, reach farther, and connect people around the world through the power of community and contribution. :globe_showing_europe_africa:

I may not have been physically present in Singapore this time, but my Bangladesh flag was there. :bangladesh:

And with that flag were my memories, my friendships, my love for the Local Guides community, and more than a decade of this incredible journey.

আপনাকে আমরা পুরো প্রোগ্রাম জুড়ে মিস করেছি এবং এটাও লক্ষ্য করেছি শুধু বাংলাদেশ লোকাল গাইড নয়, পুরু বৈশ্বিক গাইডিং এ আপনার প্রভাব কতটুকু আর সবাই আপনাকে কতটা সম্মান করেন।

আমাদের কানেক্ট এ অংশগ্রহণ করার মতো গড়ে তোলার জন্য আপনার প্র‍তি কৃতজ্ঞতা।

আপনার পোস্টটি পড়ে ভীষণ ভালো লাগল; এটি সত্যিই একটি আন্তরিক ও হৃদয়স্পর্শী প্রতিফলন।

সত্যি বলতে, যখন দেখলাম আপনি কানেক্ট লাইভ সিঙ্গাপুরে অংশগ্রহণ করছেন না এবং সেই সাথে বিশ্বজিৎ দাদাও ওই তালিকায় নেই, তখন আমার কাছেও বেশ খারাপ লেগেছে।

এই পোস্টে আপনি বিভিন্ন সংস্কৃতি ও ভিন্ন কমিউনিটির যেসব বিশিষ্ট মানুষের নাম উল্লেখ করেছেন, তাদের ভালোবাসা থেকেই প্রমাণ হয় যে এই কমিউনিটির জন্য আপনার মূল্য কতখানি। সরাসরি উপস্থিত থাকতে না পারলেও তারা যে আপনাকে এত সুন্দরভাবে মনে রেখেছেন, সেটাই অনেক বড় প্রাপ্তি।

বাংলাদেশ লোকাল গাইড কমিউনিটির জন্য আপনার অবদান ও ডেডিকেশন সত্যিই অতুলনীয়। আপনার কাছ থেকে পাওয়া অনুপ্রেরণা আর দিকনির্দেশনা না থাকলে হয়তো আমি এতদূর আসতে পারতাম না।

আপনার জন্য অনেক অনেক শুভকামনা! আশা করছি, ভবিষ্যতে কোনো না কোনো প্রোগ্রামে আপনার সাথে সরাসরি দেখা হবে।

It is truly heartening to read about your experience and how you stayed connected to the spirit of ConnectLive. :heart_hands:

I wanted to share that the small gesture from me was simply a way to commemorate the dedication and passion you’ve poured into the BDLG and Local Guides community over the years. The love you constantly give to this community is immense, and it’s truly a pleasure to reciprocate that in some small way. :hugs:

@MahabubMunna , I am very happy that you received the small gift I sent, and I am very grateful that I received the gift sent by the Bangladesh Local Guides.

I had a wonderful time meeting @MohammadPalash , @GaziSalauddinbd , @FarhanaRupa , @NasimJ and @Trishatishu in Singapore.

This was my first time meeting the Bangladeshi, Indian, and Indonesian local guides communities, which are among the largest and most active Local Guides communities.

Connect Live-এ শারীরিকভাবে উপস্থিত না থেকেও বাংলাদেশের লাল-সবুজ পতাকার মাধ্যমে আপনার উপস্থিতি অনুভব করা—এটি আমাদের পুরো বাংলাদেশ Local Guides কমিউনিটির জন্যই গর্বের একটি বিষয়। আপনি বছরের পর বছর যে ভালোবাসা, নেতৃত্ব ও অবদান দিয়ে আমাদের কমিউনিটিকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাচ্ছেন, তা সত্যিই অনুপ্রেরণাদায়ক।

পুরোনো বন্ধুদের ভালোবাসা, শুভেচ্ছা ও উপহারগুলোও প্রমাণ করে—একটি সুন্দর কমিউনিটির জন্য আমাদের অবদান কখনো হারিয়ে যায় না; বরং তা মানুষের হৃদয়ে জায়গা করে নেয়। :heart:

আপনার অবদান বাংলাদেশ লোকাল গাইডে কি পরিমাণ, তা এসব উপহার এবং তাদের ভিডিও বার্তা এবং বাংলাদেশ লোকাল গাইড এর সাথে কথা বললেই বোঝা যায়। সবশেষ কথা হলো অনুপ্রাণিত হই @MahabubMunna ভাই
