this is a sad decision indeed but a very conscious to take to preserve safety and health of everyone considering the current worldwide situation. You can read more also in the post from the Head of Local Guides.

Please understand the situation going on bhai. We didn’t know when the world will be saved from Corona as we Local Guides are from different parts of the world. I also took effort on applying for Connect Live 2020 but when I read the announcement and to be honest, I am not happy and I am not sad by the way. Hope you understand bhai. I wish you to get selected for upcoming events, bhai. Thank you.

@Saieed_Rahman your account won’t be banned just because you posted this - no worries there. But please do understand that canceling the event (a decision NOBODY is happy about) was the only option left. Preparing for such an event (arranging travel, hotels, people getting visas, etc) literally takes months of work that can only be started once the date is 100% fixed and you are 100% certain it can take place. That is definitely not the case now. Who can tell what the world will look like in 6 months?
Try looking at the bright side: you now have plenty of time to prepare for Connect Live 2021. From my personal experience I can tell you: when I had applied in 2018, I had put so much effort in it that I was certain that I would be selected. But I was not. However, I decided not to give up, so I made an even bigger effort for Connect Live 2019 (even starting a podcast) and then was selected for 2019 (and was invited to become moderator a few months later). So: don’t give up, there are more opportunities in the future.
