Connect Live 2020 Application

I’m starting this post to share Connect Live 2020 application ideas for videos and other requirements to have our application accepted. I’m new to the process this year, so I’m as much on here to learn, as I am to share what I’ve learned so far in my process of gathering my application requirements. But I’ll share everything I’ve figured out so far with anyone. I’m quickly approaching a level 7, but there are many areas I feel like I need to work on to be comfortable as a “well rounded” level 7. As far as our video for our application, I have watched some (And thoroughly read the rules and tips) from past years, and have come up with some pretty interesting ideas that I think sets mine apart from the average applicant video. I have a little bit of a background in photography/videography, sound, and other related technologies, which I think will help me out with my video in particular. If any of you have any tips, information, or questions for me, I’d love to hear from you. Thanks for your interest in my post!!

Hi @ZackDaddy

All the tips are great, of course, BTW we are not expected to be video expert.

Thanks to @KashifMisidia for the official list of tips

As you can read on the FAQ section of the official Connect Live 2020 application site

What makes a good application video?
Local Guides should give us a glimpse of their personality while responding to one of the prompts below. Get as creative as you’d like, but your video does not need special effects or treatments. Most importantly, be yourself!

BTW, I see that you are using a photo that appear not to be yours. Please edit your post and remove contents that you don’t have the right to use

In Local Guides Connect we care about author’s right, included yours. For more information please read: How do I follow the original content guidelines on Connect?

As was pointed out to me, that I knew already, the photo I have posted here, I did not take myself. I figured being a member of the community, I’d be safe using it. Apparently not. I apologize as no ill intentions were intended. I would remove the photo (and will), but I haven’t figured out how to do so yet. Again, I apologize to all who were offended by me borrowing a photo not taken by myself. I’d appreciate the same respect moving forward with any photo I’ve volunteered, both here on Connect, and Google Maps.

Edit:

I figured out how to delete that illegal photograph. Thanks to all those who pointed that out to me. My intention was not to offend anyone, I thought this community was more of a family type of community and atmosphere, where we could share things with one and other. I hope I can be forgiven and accepted to the community, even though it isn’t exactly what I thought it was.
