I love traveling, mainly to find all the finger-licking things in the world.
Currently a level 6 Local Guide, and setting a goal to reach level 9 before the end of 2020.
Starts from Taipei, Taiwan, and then near-Asia countries. I’ll keep boarding my FOODprints to global!
All these wonderful stories of being a Google Guide starts from April, 2019.
Before then, the way I find restaurants was mainly by walk-by notices or bloggers’ promoted posts. However, I often stepped on the awful restaurants.
The only thing I could do to successfully avoid bombs was following friends’ honest recommendations.
Therefore, I asked one of my FOOD EXPERT friends about how to search for real feedbacks among lots of incomplete or even fake information, and I got a unbelievably simple answer ----“Referring comments and ratings on Google Maps”.
Since then, I cannot live without Local Guide, and even join the program just want to save as more people who need real feeling like me as possible.
Every time I find out by myself, be assisted to find out, or assist others to find out a “worth-going restaurants”, the sense of accomplishment fills my mind.
The Most interesting thing I’ve done as a Local Guide is a FREE BANQUET Incidence.
I’ve once went to a hotpot restaurant with friends, and only order few dishes.
When I started to type reviews on my phone, the shopkeeper noticed what I was doing, and enthusiastically ran towards me yelling that “You should eat all the items on the menu, then you can leave a more complete review!”.
And then, he treated us all the dishes on the menu!
After that experience, I always ask server what are the signature dishes before making decision, to provide more complete and transparent assistances.
To me, the Local Guides program means an action to accumulate the knowledge and experiences of people in every corner of the world.
By providing correct information, the world turns more transparent, and therefore we can be navigated to one after another cuisine paradise by reviews and ratings of Local Guides. I believe that we create a powerful tips database, which is a foundation for people who desires to explore this beautiful world.
I will continuously assist our world, and influence more and more people to join the Local Guide program. I’m happy that I’m on the right way
I expect the day that all the scenes, places, restaurants, no matter its size, can be disclosed on Google Map. Keep going Google Guiders, we almost succeed!
