Today I’m going to tell you what I love sharing most on Google Maps and why.
I love looking at everything that is local and making sure it’s correct. I’ve been on a lot of road trips and Google maps allows me to find everything that is so local and unique to that community. From BBQ to doctors, there is so much to discover.
If I see something that needs correction, I make a note of it and make a correct it as soon as I can. I think that it’s so important to have accurate and up to date information. Street view allows me to see whats really going on. If I see something that’s out in the middle of nowhere, on a state highway, I will usually question it at first. I’ll take a look at street view and see what it looks like. Sometimes, it’s a no-brainer and I submit a change to Google. Other times, it looks legitimate so I just take a little time to make sure the photos are correct, the hours, web site, etc.
What’s so powerful about this is it allows anyone to discover that perfect backroad-country-place that they would have otherwise missed. What if it would have been on the wrong part of the map? What if it had incorrect hours?
It may have never have been discovered. I think what led me to this was a trip of my own, where we found such place. We found a fish joint out in the middle of nowhere. Hands down the best meal I’ve ever had. I knew then it was important to have up to date, accurate information. It’s true from small business to large that it can and will make a difference.
That’s what I like sharing.
