Hi, I’m Cindy and I currently reside in Jakarta. I take business trips a lot, once or even twice a month, whether it’s domestic or international trips. I get to visit a new place often. When in another city or country, the most important thing is to find a place to eat good food outside your neighborhood. I love to try new foods, the ones that I don’t usually find in my city or just to find a regular foods but suitable for my religious belief (like finding halal foods outside my country). Back then, I often failed at finding good food, it’s either the food was just not good or the place that was not as expected. Since more and more people using Google Maps and giving ratings and reviews, I can now easily find a place to eat that fits my taste and I can even give recommendations to my colleague as to where we’re gonna eat and they often feel satisfied with my choice. I feel how helpful Google Ratings and Reviews are. Not only that, it helps me in every aspects of my life, for example, I got sick a few weeks ago just after I woke up at dawn, I felt very sick but didn’t feel the need to go to the hospital (because it wasn’t serious). I needed to go to a clinic immediately. It’s hard to find a clinic that’s open as early as 5am, so I relied on Google to help me with the information about clinics that are open for 24 hours. It helped me that day. After chains of events that led me to use Google (especially when I’m out of town or country), I felt so motivated to also share what I’ve experienced in a particular place I visited. When I feel satisfied or disappointed by a restaurant or hotel services. I love to share bad experiences so that other people will see it and know what they expect when they’re looking forward to or what they should prepare when they visit the same place. I’m very serious at giving compliments or critiques about a place, I just want to give the most honest reviews and ratings possible so people will know exactly what they expect. I don’t like it when people say something irrelevant to a place that is not helpful at all. I want to educate people in my country how to give an honest review, not just “good”, “ok”. Well what makes it “good”? What makes it “ok”? What makes it “bad”? You just have to give a clear description of your judgement. If you don’t really know what to say in your review, then don’t do it. Just give a rating and that will be just enough for you.
Thank you
