Connect Live 2019 closed with a true celebration of Local Guides

We officially closed out Connect Live 2019 on Friday morning with a brunch and awards ceremony to recognize the amazing achievements of our community.

Attendees were greeted at their tables with take-home adventure kits as tokens of our appreciation for joining us during this incredible experience. It contained everything a Local Guide needs to capture content, including a selfie-light, phone tripod, and everyone’s favorite, socks.

The festivities continued with an entertaining awards show hosted by Program Manager Jenny Arimoto to celebrate Local Guides for their contributions in a variety of categories including the most-viewed review of all time, most original application video, and more.

It was a truly amazing experience to be able to join the family there in Connect Live 2019. Am truly privileged to have been invited. Thanks to all the amazing Google Managers, moderators and Googlers who worked amazingly hard to make this possible.

And most of all, am so thrilled to know we are only starting the party with all the great things Local Guides will be able to do with so many great things in Google Maps.

When a simple thanks doesn’t measure up to all things received from the team, we as Local Guides will always remind ourselves that “we rise by lifting others”.

Thanks to the local guide team as a whole, it looks like this year’s summit was all about gifts, from opening up to the closing session, even though attending may be regarded as a gift on its own.
