During the Connect Live 2018 event, I was fortunate to seat next to someone special. Perhaps fate forged the way for us?
I said “hi” and she said “hello”. We both stretched our necks to see our badges. Then I offered her a freshly mint Two Naira coin from Nigeria, and her eyebrows lifted with a smile on her cheeks. In return I got a rupee and eternal connectivity!
While we went into the first tea break, it was an opportunity to take a selfie and three was good enough.
In the course of the three day events in San Francisco, we unconsciously ran into each other and deliberately made the best out of it through conversations.
The young lady spoke mildly but with greater influence. She would ask me to get myself a drink, when I felt reluctant, she’d stand up and lead the way.
Her understanding about global issues, culture and humanity piqued me. More especially, her initiative to highlight public toilet issues in India was endearing.
Now, this is a lecturer, I said to myself. Understanding some Indian culture, mehendi skin designs and four hour time difference!
It’s always refreshing to find someone who share common topics of interest.
Time flies! Getting to know @PriyankaU was one gorgeous moment for me at Connect Live 2018.
This was beautiful to read, @EmekaUlor I can relate to this story easily and wish you both and all local guides the best ride of life in the friendships unfolding.
I’ve got butterflies in my belly thanks for sharing @EmekaUlor I remember liking and linking your picture updates on Instagram of @PriyankaU nice one guys!
This is so great, @EmekaUlor . Loved reading about how you and @PriyankaU met. I remember how I met you both during Connect but just to think there may be even more wonderful stories like this from Connect Live in which there were encounters that truly may have defined an experience. You both are awesome and glad that your paths crossed.
We are all connected somehow, but getting the connection is the hardest. Some connections just happen naturally that race, culture, age etc is immaterial. I’m happy for your natural friendship.
