Dreams do come true, and the Local Guides program is a dream come true to many and to me it’s not only a dream come true but also a platform to Contribute,Connect, Learn and explore.
- We all have a part to play in this World, though little it can amount to something big and being a Local Guides ‘minions’ has given me something to be proud of. Adding that review of a new place, adding a new place , or even editing a place is a fantastic way of contributing to the world. When you receive that thank you message from someone because of the review you have written give you that rush of wanting to do contribute more and helping others. Giving a Review of your favorite fishing spot or adding a New Business on the map for example will go along way in making the place known and there is no better way to contribute than being a Local Guide ‘Minion’.
Having those fake reviews of a place uploaded by People can make a user have a bad day. But with the help of Local Guides’minions’ who can visit the place,take photos, write appropriate reviews and honest opinions this making a world a SAFER PLACE.
Local Guides ‘minions’ all over the world has a common ground to connect and learn from each other. I have been able to learn from Local guides in different countries of their favorite places to visit in their countries and also on how to make our contributions more resourceful to help Google Maps Users helping them to get to know before the place better before hand. On a personal level , I have learnt alot. Before I was a local Guides ‘Minion’ I only used Google maps for personal use withouth knowing the Awesome opportunities it holds. Now am at Level 6, and my oh my I have a passion for it. Oh Yeah.
As an active local Guides’Minion’I have discovered I can do more than being a consumer but be an EXPLORER. I always have the urge to go out and about to add a new place to make it known to other Consumers ,take clear photos, add good reviews and honest information of the new place. As a local guide, you develope a Keen eye for details,new places and also learn photograpy skills. You start appreciating nature and those breathtaking nature views which always call for a good photograpy of the same and a good review and the place being added on Google Maps to be discovered by many.
