What I honestly think is that there is some contradiction in the communication, @WashDias .
This conversation can become very large, and what I am writing here is the result of a very long analysis
On September 4, 2019, Google made an announcement in Connect: How do I delete my answers to questions on Google Maps?
In there is clearly indicate: “If you delete answers to questions during any time frame, your answer will be deleted from Google Maps, and as a result, your Local Guides points will be removed for those contributions”
The process is irreversible, because saving a back-up would be against the request to delete your activity. Privacy have an high priority level, because is required by law.
Consequently Google Maps has updated the Help Page: “Verifique se a configuração Atividade na Web e de apps está ativada.”
A lot of Local Guides missed a lot of points, and I really spent days to explain why this was happening. As I said already, to be a moderator is not always funny. Many wrote ideas about a change to have the points back, so I believe that Google started to think about a “possible” way to keep the points even deleting “my activity”, and I believe that the post by @LilyanaZ has been written with this spirit.
Personally, I don’t see too much space for an improvement / change. Of course, Google can stack the count of answers (let say from day X to day Y), and give points based on this principle, but the risk is that someone can use this to “trick” the system, because once the answer is no longer associated to an account, it is very possible that you will receive the same question again and again. This would be bad fro two reasons:
- A not appropriate way to receive points
- A wrong statistic about a place. The scope to ask questions about a place is to better help the users. E.g.: Is This Product on sale in here? If the majority of the answer is Yes, a search about that product will address you to the shop. but of course a statistic, to be valid, need to have only “one answer per user”
Honestly, I believe this will be something extremely difficult to fix, so probably a “permanent warning” in the setting page can be helpful
