Hi @LifeofAj - the emails shown on your screenshots are basically news and updates that are sent from time to time by the Local Guides team. You’re getting this because your Local Guides profile is set to receive the emails. You can check your preference from the link below (make sure to log in using the email address you used to sign up for the Local Guides program).

If it has a check marks, that means you’re subscribed for emails to that particular topic. The email you got is most likely due to the ‘News & Product Updates’ is checked (please verify on your account).

There has been some confusion regarding the registration part. When you get the newsletter you are of cause already a Local Guide. So there is no need to registre again!
Maybe it is a simple mistake where a paragraph intended for Maps users not yet enrolled in the Local Guides Program got reused.
