It was by 2016 that I started rating places where I usually go. I really don’t remember what was my intention to do it, however I know how I got map contributions. It was because I always felt myself a fun of google apps and stuff and one of my favorites are Google Maps and Street View. On maps I usually rated the restaurant, hotels or commercial places just to help people decide and I used to include a very very brief comment. I believed that comments are more important than ratings.
It is important to tell that I am a writer for passion. I figure it out when I started to have more confidence on me. Before that I remember when I loved to write long love letters for my girlfriend or write stories when we were on distance or I had an amazing travel around Latin America. My girlfriend used to love my letter because they were so profound and sentimental she told me. Also my mom saved one of my notebooks because she enjoyed to read them. That is how I decided to become a profesional writer.
Then as I continued to rate and comment on google maps I notice that short comment or basic one didn’t have a significant impact, they used to have no more than 30 views and of course none of likes. So I started to feel that my contribution needed something more powerful.
This is when each time I go to a place I deeply evaluate my experience And every time I felt great about it I take pictures to include. However, the time to put my comment I introduce all my senses, what I saw, textures, flavors, sounds and more important my sensations and felling. Be sure to have at least hundreds of views and some likes that make you fell proud and continue contributing.
One of my favorite and high impact post is the one in a restaurant in the city where I live Lima Peru, Bar Restaurant El Cordano. An antique restaurant with 100 years of establishment next to the government presidential house. For this post a reach more than a thousand views and I keeps influencing. So I encourage you to make an extra effort to comment your contributions with your own interior experience. Felling like love, loyalty, friendship and passion are common on every culture around the world.
