Colored sand beaches in Hawaii

Hawaii is blessed with a large number of beautiful beaches. Forget basic beige Sand beaches. Instead, think colourful sand beaches, where you will find stunning colorful shorelines. Some of the famous coloured sand beaches I visited in Hawaii are given below :

Red sand beach :
Kaihalulu Beach, located south of Hana Bay at the base Ka’uiki Head, is an excellent example of a rare, red sand beach. Ka’uiki head is a cindercone, rich with iron. As it erodes, this iron seeps onto the beach to give it a magnificent, deep red hue.

Black sand beach :

The nicest black sand beach on Maui is Wai’anapanapa State Park, located just off the Road to Hana. When volcanic lava meets the ocean, it rapidly cools and shatters. The smallest of the shattered debris becomes black sand.

Green sand beach :

Papakolea Beach, located in a bay southwest of the Mauna Loa volcano, is one of only four green sand beaches in the world. The green coloring comes from the green crystals (olivine) that formed when magma from the volcano cooled.

Hi @_Ann ,

I’m speachless, thanks for sharing.

These places look breathtaking. I can’t believe that the nature can do these miracles. These are the most beautiful beaches that I’ve ever seen. The black one is my personal favorite. It looks amazing, how the green grass, trees and the sea surrounds the black volcanic sand.

PS: I’ve re-labelled your post, and now it appears in Travel topic section.
